ProfileEcor Pro is a Dutch company that designs and builds dehumidifiers and other electrical equipment with unique features. Boasting over 40 years experience in the market, the business’s main focus is creating dehumidifiers specifically designed to their customer’s specification. The company’s management team is both Dutch and English with offices in UK, Holland, USA and China.
ChallengeEcor Pro stores some of its products in Moody Logistics’ warehouse in Cramlington, Northumberland, and had been made aware of MCR Services after a warehouse visit (MCR is a sister company of Moody’s and occupies one of the units on the transport company’s site). The company approached MCR Services with an ongoing project which would see the team replace European plugs for UK 13 amp plugs on dehumidifiers and heaters. As part of the process, and to ensure quality and safety, MCR Services would also need to perform PAT testing on each product. Finally, the team would need new labelling to remove the European plug reference.
SolutionTo keep the time per unit efficient, the team at MCR Services created a production line so that each member of the team would have one specialist role. To date, the team have reworked 89 products, with more on the horizon.
It has worked out very well for us being able to make use of Moody’s storage facility and have a rework company in the same vicinity. Having the ability to call of stock or send it into MCR Services for rework with a quick telephone call is excellent, especially in our busy periods. On my visit to the site I was really impressed with the way the team at MCR were handling our requirements. It’s a positive ongoing partnership.
